My ones are Quik-latch QL-25-S but are the "mini" version. I figure with a front hinged bonnet, consequences of failure are minimal. quik-latch.com will get you in amongst it.

I've got the new bonnet latches which look okay, they aren't that much bigger than the original ones which is good.
Why the size change? I am about to use 4 of the smaller ones on a glass bonnet. Did you have failures or do they just feel feeble?

Re: Noob Datsun Owner

The Repco dude in Dunedin gave me a 3 option list today: NGK BKR5EiX-11 (Iridium) $28 Ea. PFR5G-11 (platinum) $19.20 Ea. BCPR6ES (standard) $7.35 Ea. What should I go in for? IMHO if you are swapping out plugs to find a miss and are likely to be doing it again in the near future as you travel down ...

Re: 240z S30 Heated Windscreens

In the $800 range I think, I would invest if they were unbreakable and insurable or heavily discounted. I am not sure why so pricey, I guess limited run?

Keep us posted on the cause of the damage, someone else may have experienced similar. Try the good Church of course. Almost looks like something has got caught between cam and rocker, jammed the valve and smacked the piston?

Re: GPS tracking

Hi everyone I've recently spent some time getting a cheap GPS tracker working for my motorcycle, for security and tracking trips. It should work equally well for vehicles, so long as you can find a mounting point which has good GPS and cell reception. I've got it sorted pretty well now and have don...

Re: Which gearbox/diff

We "eventually" went to the Silvia version of the C box. Shortened the driveshaft, well actually remade a new one as the originals twist the tube and break UJ's once horsepower climbs, so wanting to keep the original driveshaft shouldn't be a reason not to choose the Silvia version. The lo...

Re: Datsun 280ZX IMSA GTU replica race car build...

Personally, I would split the box, then tape the mating faces, block off the internal castings and use the mildest blasting media available. The split is the easiest part of gearbox disassembly, just leave the innards attached to the sandwich plate and remove from the equation. You can clear coat th...

Still probably on the money if the drive-train and interior are ok. May have been a $70,000 car if un-marked.

Any info on this car, looks like the conversion has some value, the body would cost more to fix than importing a shell from USA.

Re: 100 Octane

Only you can answer that, it will be a price based thing, you probably wont notice a big difference in performance 98 to 100, all else being equal. My understanding is that generally in modern road cars with Lambda sensors etc that going up in octane won't harm your engine and may give it some bette...
