Yes it always pays to check your mirrors ! Race track overtaking rules are outlined in the Motosport NZ Manual. This is available online to be viewed. However i suspect 100% of public track day competitors sorry participants have never even seen this publication let alone read it. I strongly suggest...

Hi Do as Camross mentioned above. Dont overthink think this. Maths can not be applied to this as there are way to many variables and they change every lap. I personally would not be going out and expecting to stop from 170 meters. Hey trying starting at 250 and nibble away at it. In my experience br...

Hi the MSA header is a good design and works well. I personally used it for years. However unless you can order a set with 1 5/8 primaries ( mine were 1 3/4) i would consider a different brand. Unless your engine is of huge HP ie over 60 HP per cylinder or turning past 8K on a regular basis you will...

Mmmmm. Ok, a lot of good comments here. But and its a big but, i will always say that the biggest improvements will come from the driver regardless of what car you are driving. Firstly ensure that your car is in the best possible condition for what it is. I would suggest a good wheel alignment by so...

I'd like to say an competent mechanic should be able to do it, but apparently this is increasingly seems to be not the case. Contact Bob or Grady at HiTech in Dury . I can assure you Bob or his son know how to set Cam timing.

Hi I have an E88 head here which i could part with. Lets just call it a casting as it is stripped and would require new seats and guides and all the stuff swapped from your head. Call me on 0274-976-951 if you want to discuss this stuff.

What head number is on your car ? Ill have a look at what i have. Also id be very surprised if you block needs to be sleeved. Generally speaking L blocks never need sleeving unless you are doing something extreme or are very pedantic and wish to keep the standard bore size.

Generally Avgas or race fuel or high octane pump gas just enables you to run slightly more ignition advance at any given point ( if the engine wants it) without fear of detonation. The only way you are going to be able to know what this is with any accuracy is by dyno tuning the car and adjusting th...

Franklin Cam Services in Pukekohe have many grinds available as do Kelfords in Christchurch I probably also have a mild RR3 grind Cam here which would suit you. You need to keep the cam mild being street driven and an auto. Extractors or headers are available from Custom Chambers who were in South A...

Ok. Im not a dedicated drag racer but its fair to say im pretty interested in getting decent starts and have tried getting decent starts in one or three cars. The easiest and cheapest stuff to start. Immediately the most obvious things to do with any car is to loose weight and in a 350 you need to l...

Nice seats. I am currently running that type of thing in my race car. Has worn well despite a lot of use. Build quality seems good. My last Carbon Fibre Momo seat did not perform so well in a big accident. I was not impressed. Please note this may have been a one off bad seat as Momo products are no...

Hi Yes i have had both Sparco and Racetech seats of the years. Both have been good seats. Tho choosing a race seat generally comes down to what will fit in the car and what you will fit in. If you are racing or doing a Targa event a good fitting/fitted seat and its mounting is of the utmost importan...
