Re: Red Zed Build Thread
Nice upgrade, looking at your last picture I see that you have drum pads with a disc calliper hanger hanging underneath? Or am I looking at something different? Yes I can see how that looks a bit confusing. I'm running a drum-in-hat style disc brake (Write up here https://forum.zclub.nz/viewtopic.p...

Re: Red Zed Build Thread
I've had a tiny amount of play in my rear wheel bearings so decided to rebuild my whole rear-end New CVs, bearings, aftermarket stub axles & companion flanges to take a 108mm CV. https://s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/forum-media/PXL_20210417_002830883.jpg Old vs new stub axles. They have a l...

Re: WTB S30 Rear Stub Axles
Thanks Bernie, Thankfully, I have all the bolts from the damaged 240z stub axles from my car, so it's just the stub axles that need replacing. So if you did have the stub axles and the splines are in good condition, I would be interested? The power I'm putting out probably doesn't justify the upgrad...

WTB S30 Rear Stub Axles
Hiya, I'm after some S30 Rear Stub Axles. Ideally 280z with companion flanges as I believe they're in upgrade for 240z's. Or alternatively some 240z ones, I already have 240z companion flanges.
I was gonna buy some upgraded ones from Futofab, but he's not answering emails.
Cheers, Mikey

Re: 240Z nose-cone questions
That's called a "g-nose". There were some homologated "Fairlady ZG" cars built with this, but that will be an aftermarket add on. I think all you'd need to convert back would be unbolting the g-nose and bolting on a front valance (I have a beat up one under my house actually) and...

240Z hub torque
Hi guys, I'm doing a refresh of my driveline and have a few questions for you. Firstly, I had some noticeable play in my rear hubs when you try and rock the wheels, the bearings didn't feel notchy when rolled. So I tried torquing them up and measuring end-play, the FSM specs say you should get end-p...

Hmm yeah, that's quite a lot isn't it
The car itself is pretty tidy. Not super original or special thou. The frame rails look quite damaged.

Thanks, yep it's working well.
Yeah image hosting is a real pain. I now host them in my own AWS S3 account. Which works for me, but wouldn't recommend unless you're into IT.

Re: insurance valuations
I've had a valuation before and found the whole thing a bit Mickey Mouse.
He was a well known valuer and more or less asked me to pick a number that I thought the car would be worth because he didn't really know. This is for a 240z.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Re: Red Zed Build Thread
That looks good. Always wanted to do something similar to my car. How about writing something up as to how you did this and where you bought parts from. Would be good to send in a mail-out or log in as an upgrade for the early Zs You could send it directly to me if you like. bernjean59@gmail.com Be...

Witchcraft! I just replaced the original fusebox with a new magical one from the future which isn't all hot and melty and gives me more than 9 volts at the headlights! Re: RS Watanabe's 15x10 vs 17x10??
Oh yeah, the genuine Watanabe wheel nuts are two-piece with big coned washers which mate against the wheel, presumably to stop the nut gouging the wheels.
