Didn't realise your 280 was 5 stud... was it a 300zx conversion or something?
Haha, yeah I've had that ammo tin for probably 20 years, doesn't get used for much.

And yup, Z31 stuff in the back and I've had Z31 stuff in the front before but it's S13/S14 now.

Re: DJ's 280ZX

Been doing little bits and pieces on this thing since lockdown, want to get it going again soon. Decided to flag making new pins as I don't think it's really necessary. Got the Z31 subframe bushes machined so I could remove the top washer and the subframe should end up in the same location height wi...

Re: 280zx Spare Wheel Cover

I have one that might still have the sticker on it, if you don't hear from me send me a PM to remind me. I don't think the US cars came with full size spares and only early Japanese ones did as well before they went to a inflatable spare. All the original covers I've seen have been pretty much in th...
I think we need to arrange a follow up visit to test check out the changes! Leave it with you Dan. https://www.stuff.co.nz/motoring/121512803/nz-race-car-manufacturer-expands-local-test-track
Yeah maybe later on in the year we can do...

Re: DJ's 280ZX

Yup it's a turbo, it's auto but I've got a T5 for it and most of the bits to convert it apart from a flywheel. I use Imgur for hosting, it seems to work pretty well. And no coupe doors sorry, I've got a pair but I need them for my other 2 seater. Nice Z31, didnt know you had that! Is it a turbo? Wha...

Re: DJ's 280ZX

So while I'm sitting at home I thought I may as well start to get this ready to fit some of the bushes I've had sitting around for maybe 10 years and try and sort out some of the other little issues with the rear end. The bushes I've had sitting around for ages were the rear arm bushes, I also got s...

Re: DJ's 280ZX

Make a few changes regarding the fuel system, I'm going to keep the Nismo regulator that I've got but I'm going to move it to the firewall end of the rail and cut the barb off so I can put a hard line to AN adaptor on it. So I had to make an adaptor to go from the fuel rail to the reg. https://i.img...

Re: DJ's 280ZX

I finally did something I've been wanting to do for ages which is replace the aluminium intake tube that I had with a carbon one. I had to rotate the pipe with the blow off valve on it around which I've also been meaning to do for a while, that meant trimming the adjuster bolt for the power steering...

Re: DJ's 280ZX

Got the new latches in, had to make some bushes so I could use the hole saw in the original hole, worked out well though. These ones are long enough that I can use the locking rings with them as well, which I couldn't do with the old ones due to the thickness of the bonnet. https://i.imgur.com/fSDW4...

Re: DJ's 280ZX

I've got the new bonnet latches which look okay, they aren't that much bigger than the original ones which is good. Why the size change? I am about to use 4 of the smaller ones on a glass bonnet. Did you have failures or do they just feel feeble? They were Aliexpress ones and kept popping open, the...

Re: DJ's 280ZX

Got this back from storage on the weekend, need to get a couple of things sorted before the Datsun Nationals. I've got the new bonnet latches which look okay, they aren't that much bigger than the original ones which is good. I also want to make a box to go around the air filter and possibly change ...
