Re: 240z Upholstery

I found the autodec carpets were not worth the money so I made my own for my 240z
Working for a carpet company does have some certain perks. Just make some templates and then get the edges overlocked/bound and you will get a much better product than anything you can buy

I am running 10.5:1 in my L28. I have used 98 octane though so I can't vouch for 95

I'm not a lawyer so I can't help there. Maybe you could do with a shot gun and shovel.

Try Ebay. there are a lot of carb specialists. I got mine from ebay (3 complete kits) and they were way cheaper than from NZ

Re: Triple Carbs - Stuck float valve

I got mine totally recondition at a place on Plunket ave in Wiri. I stripped them (3 X Dellorto )to the bare bones and gave them to the guy for glass blasting, a total rebuild and assembly etc. They looked better than new. It cost around $750. I will take my original Hitachi's to him to do some time.

Re: New and looking to buy a 240z 1972-1972

You might get one that is LHD for 25K. You would have to save another 5-10k to get anything that would be reliable and have a wof.. In saying that, I know of someone scoring a bargain a few years back for 17k and it is in really good original cond

Re: 240z resto on Duke tv

The ITBs were very nice but I think they should have restored the carbs and installed them The car was fairly original so don't stray from that. If the guy was going to use as a track day car fair enough. It looked like a nice job from the camera angles but how nice can it be with a 3 week build tim...

Good progress. It looks like a really good car already so it will not take too much $$$ to restore

Most likely a faulty voltage reg. I had the same problem. You need to get onto it quickly as you WILL fry the battery. and other electrics. Mine was caused by a loose wire in the regulator.

If the car is really original to begin with DON'T CUT the guards. You can never predict the future so you might have to sell due to unforeseen cicumstances . You will be definitely be dropping the value. Any mods you make should be able to be reversed. If you do cut them you can get a real panel bea...

Yep That is real motorsport. Not like todays yawn, yawn boring fest. Right foot was traction control and no fancy computers, no cotton wool warp Nazis either. Drivers had to be skilled, not that they aren't today but is was a whole different level. The only motorsport worth watching today is the Isl...

Yep if you don't know what you are doing you can stress, warp and ripple the body. soda and dry ice is a lot less harsh than sand. Sand is used for thicker types >3mm and structural steel. The body shop should use garnet on panels
