the close ratio gear set is out of the box casing so I should imagine the teeth on each gear set can be counted?
and first gear is the ratio that is the give away that it is/isnot a close ratio box

first gear will be a higher ratio than normal so that all forward gears will be closer together, so when you driving hard the rpms dont drop to far down when changing gear, keeping the motor in the power band. Hope that make sence? from memory second gear syncros and poss bearings are gone on all 3 ...

Franklin Cam Services refaced mine there just south of auckland

the idle speed was probably last set with these lines disconected - so reset the idle speed again with lines conected and it should be correct

should be an idle adjustment screw near the throttle body under a rubber gromet

the A/C has it's own idle speed increase
