Have been looking into the import procedures to get the car to Oz and by the time I get it on the road here, the costs really s...

A yearning for a 280ZX 2 seater

That's right.......have wanted to own one for a few years now and I am not getting any younger! Only problem is they didn't release the 280ZX 2 seater here in Oz. So I may have to look to NZ if I am ever going to own one. I would much prefer a manual series 2 (1982/83 models) with power steering. Ha...

Not so new member from Oz!

Hi all from over the pond in Oz. Thought it was time to introduce myself. Joined up here 7 years ago(how time flies!) Mainly just browsed and did a bit of reading and posted infrequently. A little history on my Datsun/Nissan ownership: My second car in life as a 19 year old back in 1981 was a 240K c...

Where does it end? 280ZX is back from the paint shop. Besides the money spent painting it and fixing rust (the rust wasn't that bad thankfully), I also supplied a new bonnet and guards courtesy of Nissan. A JDM spoiler (aftermarket). Also from Nissan are new front and side indicator lenses/housings....

No probs Mike.

I wouldn't mind getting some bits and pieces from this guy. I get to Brisbane at least once a year and wouldn't mind looking him up next time I'm there.

What other bits does he make?

Looks very original. Everything seems to be there as well so thats a bonus. A white/cream interior makes it a little bit different too.

How much did it cost you?

Good find on the dash caps. Last time I checked here in Melbourne a few years back they had stopped making them.

If the supplier is here in Melb and you need a hand organising anything let me know.

G'day. Just a point that might save you some wasted time. The distibuters and AFM's should interchange from all 280zx's. But the ECU wont. There is a differece between the early and later models. The cars changed from series one to series two about Aug/Sept 1981.

Grant, no probs about the Oz mix up. I'll probably need 2 sets of headers anyway. I own a 1982 280zx 2+2 and a early 240z(car #000268) and need some decent headers for the both of them. Also how much did they charge you for shipping to NZ on the gear you purchased. Did NZ customs sting you for duty ...

Grunzter, thanks for the info. So what your saying is that it will be cheaper to get them from the USA? I wasn't planning on spending US$1000, but maybe I could order a few and flog them here in Oz! The exchange rate isn't to bad at the moment for the aussie dollar against the greenback! Wasn't sure...

Nzeder, thanks for all the info. I definately am interested in those $600 ones. Whats the exchange rate I wonder! Would they be able to post an item like this with NZ post? Do they accept visa or paypal? I will surf around and compare some prices from the USA, but I think in the end it will probably...

Yeah, that would be greatly appreciated.

HM headers make a not so good set here in Oz. But I would prefer the 6 into 2 type. Hopefully it will be a more economical alternative to getting one from the USA.
