They aren't pod filters they are the same cartridge type as the OEM paper filters. Filtering is supposed to be as good as the paper ones. They are steel mesh with a paper membrane. Yes they definitely make a difference. I went for another good drive today :) Here is a before and after for a G37 with...

I have just installed a pair of Blitz SUS Power LM filters. What a difference! I wish I had done it earlier.

I can feel the extra power and torque, right across the rev range. The car is a lot more responsive and the induction noise is nicer too.

Air filters

My air filters are going to get replaced on the next service. I was thinking of installing something better than the standard paper ones. I have heard that KNs cause a problem when the filter oil gets into the throttle body or MAF sensor. I don't want to make a major change to the induction, I just ...

Yeah I started the thread with the fuel dampers. My symptoms were slightly different. No detonation. The light throttle hesitation was there all of the time regardless of engine temperature. The dampers were replaced and the car has remained problem free for more than 10,000kms. My car is a HR, so t...

Mine is a 2007 with 110,000kms. I have owned it for 12 month and thought the gear select clonking was okay, normal. When parked I move into D or R and there is a clonking slight clonking sound that is felt in the gear shifter as you move it. I have not been concerned about it. The car doesnt lurch o...

I used Penrite 5W30 full synthetic in the end. I am very pleased with with the results. The car is actually performing better. Quicker response and more grunt. I have noticed more induction noise. I think the previous oil was some cheap stuff. It came out nice and clean though.

Which oil?

I have a 350z HR 2007. I am coming up to the first service and oil change since I bought the car. I know that the using the wrong oil can cause problems with the valve timing control. My car is going really well and I don't want an oil change to result in problems, or any drop in performance. What t...

I have been here a while but...

I have owned my Z for a while. But I am finally feeling good about it. I had some issues with it when I bought it. It took ages for the dealer to fix but there is no looking back now. I will keep this car for a very long time I reckon. It's a Fairlady Z imported from Japan. First thing I did was tak...

Remote locking key

I am looking for a replacement remote locking key for my Jap import 2007 Fairlady Z. I found a second hand 2 button one on trademe. It works fine but I would like to get hold of a 3 button one like the original so I can unlock the boot remotely. Any ideas?

My first Z and a bad experience

I got my 07 350z back 3 days ago. I havent seen much of it since I took ownership 7 months ago. The car dealer took FIVE months to fix a fairly cheap and simple fault: It needed replacement fuel dampers. They cost 131 bucks including shipping. They took 6 days to get here from US and 15 minutes to i...

Hey guys thanks for your support so far.. the saga continues.... So the dealer wanted another go at fixing my 07. He offered me an 04 Fairlady Z as a loan car. This was a month ago. I decided to give it a go. He delivered a nice silver 04 auto, fresh Jap import with trade plates. I told him that I w...
