Thanks for that @djz I'll ask NZEFI again about the bonnet clearance. Yeah, the HP gain will be atleast 150HP for a stage 4 I'd say. NZEFI are looking to use a larger fuel pump and injectors (not the ones that come with the kit) and a different tune. The stage 3 is about 115HP. I think one thing we'...

NZEFI is quite sure that the stillen SC fits under the factory bonnet.

@bronzee: Your mate mentioned that if he was doing a street 350, then he'd be going for the SC

@bronzee: I was more thinking from the longevity aspect, if a Turbo, TT or SC can cope with the absolute hammering they receive as a race car Right, that makes sense. @djz: Oh, I see  I didn't think they actually came up that high. Is that the Stillen? I've only really heard good things of th...

No personal experience with supercharging the VQ myself but I do recall reading a lot about it when I purchased my car. These kits had a very poor reputation in the US not helped by the horrible bonnet the kit comes with. The vast majority went with a centrifugal style supercharger from Vortech and...

Thanks @ChrisP. I'm happy to take people for rides, but won't be letting anyone drive it other than myself and my wife (although my wife is a little scared to drive the Z now). It's a business car, so i'll need potential clients interested in order to race on track days. Feel free to become a potent...

Hi All. I'm looking at fitting a F/A kit at some stage in the near future. I've been talking to the knowledgeable people at NZEFI in christchurch. My 350z 2004 manual track is mostly used on the road. I've got dual 3" exhausts all the way through with test pipes and it looks like a roots type s...

Cams were looking to be expensive I think it was about 3.5k after shipping install and tune Where did you get your cams from? Who installed them? Did you do the tune with software or did you have someone else do it? Either way, what were the costs of the tunes also? I've currently got an AAM Compet...

Oh, really? I thought cams would take you up to about 350hp? How much were they going to cost you? Did you also look at super chargers? Yeah, I'm keen to talk shop. We should hook up at some stage.

Thanks ChrisP

Gunmetal Z: As you're doing a turbo, I'm guessing you've already done cams? Yeah keep us updated. As you're in Chch, I'd be keen to have a look at the result too.

Cat backs are on. Will be test pipes at some stage. I may do that myself as well, not sure if it's much harder or easier than the cat backs? What are you getting installed? All bolt ons. intake parts next. plenum spacer and what ever else is required to get the HP up. Then cams. I won't be doing thi...

Recommended Christchurch Mechanics

Hi All.

Can you recommend some/a excellent mechanic in Christchuch that knows Z's really well and that you would consider to be the best person to take your Z to for any work? Including general maintenance and fitting and tuning of performance parts.

Thanks.

Fung has helped immensely with tips etc, not to mention selling me some lovely parts which I'm about to receive. I'm looking at making a subwoofer box for my two 12" speakers to fit directly in front of the rear strut brace. I notice a few on ebay pretty cheap. Cheaper than I can make. Problem ...

Any tips on how to do this a bit cheaper then and acheive similar results? So would the heat from those headers (being porcelain coated) be an issue in the engine bay? So test pipes replace the catalytic converters right? "most test pipes have a spot for the oxygen sensors to connect to so you...
