wont rev past 4800, l28e

any help appreciated, my 280z seems to be down on power and when you rev it to about 45-4800 rpm it starts backfiring and wont rev higher. any ideas? good fuel pressure, new cap, leads, coil, rotor, plugs.

Yea I thought that was it myself but not the case, it realy has me beat haha. Just going to drive it untill somthing develops. Thinking back i once had a car that did something like you are describing and it turned out to be the shim behind the brake pad , the holes where the locating pins go throug...

I checked and re-packed both, they are mint.

Absolutly nothing, 4 to 5000km on current setup, I just changed the pads the other day when I checked over the brakes.

Nope, centerlines with 235s on the front 245 on the back. Had the wheels on there for ages tho and I got them off another 280zx.

Yea, definitely tight, replaced the brake disks aswell while I was in there. The sound occours under brakeing and acceleration

front cv joint noise when I turn

When I turn left my car makes a noise EXACTLY like a worn out cv joint, (obviously a 280zx does not have front cvs) I have checked over the brakes and suspension as best I can but cannot seem to find any fault, it clicks faster with speed and under braking. My new darling, l28e 5spd. mostly standard apart from front kit. Plans are to supercharge it as i like the sound and its a bit different. I found a z club ownership card in it for phil and mary thomson if anybody knows them?

I didnt think you could if it was taken off the road by insurance? Car is in awsome condition 100km on clock I cant not put it back on the road
